A business interruption is a partial or total reduction in the operation of a business with an immediate effect on its economic performance. On a global level, the risk of business interruption is consistently perceived by managers of trading and manufacturing companies as one of the biggest threats to their business.
In the Czech Republic, however, the situation is different, according to data from the insurance market. The majority of the insured focus mainly on property or liability insurance. Although the most common causes of serious business interruption are commonly insurable, only a minority of entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic have such insurance.
