RESPECT Supports Children from the Vesna Children’s Treatment Centre for the Seventeenth Time

RESPECT is continuing its long-term support of the Vesna Children’s Treatment Centre in Janské Lázně this year. Over the past weekend, the company organised the 17th edition of its traditional charity event, Kouzelný den s Krakonošem, which is one of RESPECT’s longest-running corporate social responsibility projects.

Helping others has long been an integral part of RESPECT’s corporate culture. The company supports facilities and organisations throughout the Czech Republic, focusing in particular on projects where, in addition to financial and material assistance, it can also offer the personal involvement of its employees. RESPECT supports, for example, facilities for people with disabilities, homes for senior citizens and shelters for single mothers, organises material donation drives and participates in specific charitable projects. One of the long-standing pillars of these activities is its cooperation with the Vesna Children’s Treatment Centre.

RESPECT has organised Kouzelný den s Krakonošem every year since 2009. Company employees regularly take part in the project, contributing financially and materially while also helping to organise the event directly in Janské Lázně. Gifts and prizes for the children are also made possible through an employee collection. This combination of corporate support and voluntary employee involvement is a defining feature of the project.

This year’s event was once again dedicated to children with disabilities undergoing treatment stays at Vesna. A series of activities and challenges were prepared for them at individual stations, and after completing them, the children could choose from a selection of prizes, which RESPECT employees also helped to provide.

The seventeen-year partnership with the Vesna Children’s Treatment Centre reflects RESPECT’s approach to corporate social responsibility: not as a one-off form of support, but as a long-term commitment. Alongside Kouzelný den s Krakonošem, the company is also involved in a range of other charitable, health-related, community and regional initiatives. Among its significant projects is RehaGym, an innovative concept focused on healthy movement, rehabilitation and prevention, used by senior executives, CEOs and athletes, among others. It also includes a dedicated CSR programme supporting young wheelchair users.

RESPECT has long based its CSR activities on a combination of tangible assistance, long-term partnerships and the active involvement of its own employees. Kouzelný den s Krakonošem is one of the projects that best represents this approach. Over the course of seventeen years, what began as a charitable initiative has become an established part of life at RESPECT.
