RESPECT Shared Its Experience with Data Automation in Internal Reporting at the intecs data Conference

Representatives of RESPECT spoke at a professional conference organized by intecs data, which took place at the beginning of March in Brno. Michal Truxa, Vice Chairman of the Board, and Michal Přibyl, Head of Application Specialist Teams, presented the topic “What Happens Behind the Scenes of Power BI: Data Automation and Access Rights.”

The conference, held under the main theme “Lesson Learned,” attracted more than 130 experts from the world of data and technology. The full-day event created space for sharing practical experiences and lessons from real-life projects, helping participants further develop their expertise.

“In our presentation, we focused on the behind-the-scenes aspects of working with Power BI, particularly on automating data processing and managing access rights to reports and the data they contain,” said Michal Truxa. “We presented our data architecture, which uses Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Power BI to create semantic models and reports.”

“The key insights we shared concerned the effective management of data access in an environment with different user roles. We explained how we work with Row Level Security and how we manage different views of data within a single report depending on users’ needs,” added Michal Přibyl.

From the practical experience shared during the presentation, several valuable recommendations emerged for companies implementing similar solutions: “When deploying data warehouses and Business Intelligence solutions, it is crucial to design access rights management from the very beginning and choose the right technologies,” emphasized Michal Přibyl in his part of the presentation. “Even in a cloud environment such as Azure, it is possible to keep costs under control while maximizing the benefits of process automation.”

In addition to representatives of RESPECT, experts from companies such as Dr. Max, KALAS Sportswear, Sněžník a.s., and Red Button also spoke at the conference. The program covered a wide range of topics—from corporate culture transformation and specific technological implementations to broader strategic visions.

RESPECT has long been investing in the digitalization and automation of its processes, enabling the company to provide more efficient and higher-quality services in the field of insurance brokerage.
