RESPECT Is the Main Partner of Family Business Week Again in 2026
Family businesses in the Czech Republic employ every second person, generate more than half of the country’s GDP, and account for 87% of all active companies. Despite their importance, they often face challenges that the corporate world rarely encounters—from generational succession and the protection of family assets to balancing business operations with family relationships. This is why RESPECT is supporting the Family Business Week platform for the third consecutive year as its main partner.
“Family businesses are not just business entities. They are a bridge between the economy, culture, traditions, and values. They contribute to stability and prosperity at both the local and national levels. Their role is essential and they deserve recognition and support for further growth. It is an honor for us to be part of the strong Family Business Week community, which connects, inspires, and develops family businesses across the Czech Republic,” said Zdeněk Reibl, CEO of RESPECT and this year’s patron of the platform.
A broker that understands family businesses from the inside
RESPECT’s partnership with Family Business Week is a natural extension of how the company operates and whom it serves. As one of the leading insurance brokers in the Czech and Slovak markets, RESPECT has specialized in insurance programs for medium-sized and large companies since its founding 33 years ago. Its clients include manufacturing companies, industrial holdings, logistics firms, development groups, and family-owned businesses with complex structures and multi-generational continuity. The company provides services across five continents.
Unlike standard insurance providers, RESPECT approaches each client individually. Rather than selling ready-made insurance products, the company analyzes specific risks, designs tailored insurance programs, and takes personal responsibility for their quality. For family businesses, this approach is crucial, as their risk landscape is often far more complex. The interconnection of personal and corporate assets, planned generational transitions, dependence on key individuals, or diversified assets across different industries all require a broker who not only understands insurance but also the dynamics of family entrepreneurship.
“A family business does not operate like a corporation. Decisions carry a different weight, a different time horizon, and often different consequences. When we insure a family company, we must understand not only its operations but also what is truly at stake for the family. It’s not just about assets—it’s about a life’s work and a legacy,” added Zdeněk Reibl.
Family Business Week, founded by family business advisor David Krajíček, connects entrepreneurial families, experts, academics, and representatives of public administration through regional meetings, the full-day FBW Summit, and a media project in cooperation with CNN Prima NEWS. Since its launch in 2023, the platform has quickly grown into a key event in the Czech business environment. Last year’s FBW Summit 2025 attracted more than 200 participants and included, among other highlights, the presentation of a proposed law on family entrepreneurship.
As part of FBW 2026, RESPECT will actively participate in both the regional meetings and the main summit. Details about this year’s program will be published at www.familybusinessweek.cz.
