RESPECT Employees Donate Blood Again This Year
This year, RESPECT has once again joined efforts to support voluntary blood donation. To mark World Blood Donor Day, a group of employees came together for the second time to donate blood at Thomayer Hospital in Prague. Colleagues from regional branches are also taking part by donating at blood donation centres across the Czech Republic.
The initiative began last year as a spontaneous idea from employees. What started as a one-time activity is gradually becoming a regular way of helping others—bringing colleagues together across the company while supporting a cause whose importance is often most evident when blood supplies run low.
The aim of the initiative is to help replenish blood stocks at healthcare facilities, which traditionally face shortages during the summer months, while also promoting the principle of voluntary, unpaid blood donation. This approach is built on personal responsibility, willingness to help, and the commitment to support someone you may never meet.
Blood donation is one of the most direct ways to help within the healthcare system. While it begins with an individual decision, its impact extends far beyond the donation itself. Donated blood can play a vital role in patient treatment, emergency care, surgery, cancer treatment, post-trauma recovery, and many other situations where an adequate blood supply is essential.
RESPECT therefore sees this activity not as a one-off gesture, but as part of its long-term commitment to social responsibility. It naturally reflects the company’s culture, which is built not only on expertise and responsibility towards clients, but also on teamwork, mutual support, and a willingness to contribute where it truly matters.
While employees in Prague regularly donate blood at Thomayer Hospital, colleagues in other regions participate through their local donation centres. As a result, the initiative is gradually growing into a company-wide effort that allows employees to get involved regardless of where they are based.
