RESPECT Board Member Pavla Vypiorová Featured in the Forbes Podcast

Pavla Vypiorová, Member of the Board at RESPECT, appeared in the Forbes BrandVoice podcast, where she openly discussed her career journey, the challenges of senior management, and her approach to leadership in the insurance sector.

Pavla Vypiorová joined the family company founded by Zdeněk Reibl years ago as Head of Claims Management and gradually worked her way up to the top leadership.

“Most people don’t set out with the ambition of becoming a board member. But you do have the desire to change things—and you simply can’t stand by when something isn’t working,” Vypiorová explains about her motivation to take on senior leadership roles.

She describes her work as incredibly diverse, taking her to places most people would never normally visit—inside large tanks, power plants, or the production facilities of major companies. “What did I want to be as a child? Definitely not an insurance professional,” she laughs.

In the interview, Vypiorová also reveals one of the most common mistakes people make when moving into higher management positions:
“When a manager believes that from the moment of promotion their opinion is the one everyone must follow, it becomes an ego-driven mistake that can severely limit their managerial development. The key to success lies in teams and shared energy.”
