Forbes Ranked RESPECT Among the Top Family Businesses in the Czech Republic
The prestigious Largest Family Businesses 2025 ranking by Forbes Czechia has once again confirmed the strong position of the RESPECT Group. RESPECT, owned by the Reibl family, ranked among the 200 most significant Czech family-owned companies. Forbes evaluates companies not only by economic indicators (average revenue and EBITDA profit), but also by long-term sustainability, generational continuity, and investment in the future.
Family businesses have deep roots in the Czech economy dating back to the First Czechoslovak Republic, when companies such as Baťa and Škoda formed the backbone of industrial growth, innovation, and social responsibility. To this day, they demonstrate how long-term perspective and personal accountability provide strength in turbulent times.
“In a world that is changing faster than ever, remaining a stable partner is key for us. Forbes sees us as a company that combines tradition with the courage to innovate—and that is exactly what we want to offer our clients. Not just insurance programs, but genuine certainty and peace of mind in unpredictable times,” says Zdeněk Reibl, founder and CEO of RESPECT.
The family character of the company is not merely formal. The second generation is actively involved in top management as well. Kateřina Oellerich, Director of Strategic Projects, brings modern impulses to the company. As a representative of the second generation, she sees her role primarily as a bridge between the experience of the past and the needs of the future—not only continuing the family legacy, but enriching it with a new perspective, where traditional personal responsibility meets a commitment to long-term human resilience. She focuses on shaping and implementing the company’s long-term strategy, emphasizing that process optimization should primarily serve people—whether colleagues or clients.
“Insurance is shifting from reactive protection to active prevention. Digitalization and longevity are not trends—they are a logical evolution. That is the direction we want to continue developing,” explains Kateřina Oellerich.
In the Reibl family’s vision, longevity means an active approach to long-term health and resilience. That is why the family established Rehagym, a unique center for holistic movement and health care in Prague’s Krč district. It combines physiotherapy, active rehabilitation, nutrition, and mindfulness with a special focus on restoring natural movement. Rehagym serves not only internally as a benefit for the team, but also people with disabilities and external clients, forming part of a broader business model that views health prevention as risk prevention.
RESPECT is also engaged in long-term and systematic social responsibility. The company is the main supporter of the reconstruction and reopening of the Minorite Monastery of St. James in Prague, helping ensure that this historic complex remains alive for future generations. Every year, it organizes the Magical Day with Krakonoš for children at the Vesna Children’s Medical Spa in Janské Lázně, supports retirement homes and facilities for people with disabilities, finances cultural events, and sponsors sports clubs from youth teams to top-level competitions.
Since its founding in 1993, RESPECT has specialized in comprehensive risk management and insurance brokerage for medium-sized and large companies. Today, the group manages insurance premiums exceeding CZK 9 billion annually, employs 880 insurance experts, and ranks among the market leaders. Recent years have brought record growth—the company has hired the highest number of new colleagues in its history, invested heavily in digitalization, and launched its own career portal to attract new talent to the industry.
Internationally, the group is active within the global brokerage networks UNIBA, WBN, and ICBA—demonstrating that Czech values such as integrity in the details, long-term perspective, and personal responsibility work successfully across five continents.
